Shipping instructions will be provided once your piece is complete.

Option 2 — Keep Her in Your Collection

If you keep your ME Doll as part of your personal or gallery collection, you are required to send high-resolution

photos so she can be included in the Online ME Art Gallery at BlackDollAffair.com.

Photos must be:
• High resolution
• Well-lit
• Clear and professional

You may:
• Text images to the Doll Phone: (404) 660-7363

ME Doll FAQ

What is the ME Doll?

The ME Doll is an educational heirloom created by The Black Doll Affair and inspired by Mitochondrial Eve, the maternal ancestor from whom all living humans trace their lineage.

Who was Mitochondrial Eve?

Mitochondrial Eve refers to the African woman whose mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) continues in every person alive today. She was not the only woman alive at the time, but her maternal line survived to the present.

What is Be a Doll, Give a Doll?

Be a Doll, Give a Doll is the philanthropic initiative of The Black Doll Affair that gifts dolls to children, classrooms, and communities to promote identity, origin awareness, and representation.

How can artists participate in ME X You?

Artists can participate by ordering their bestowed ME Doll, creating their interpretation, and applying through the ME + You Artist Invitation page.

What’s in it for me as an artist?

Participation in ME X You is both a philanthropic and promotional opportunity.

Each completed ME Doll featured in the Online ME Art Gallery includes a live link to the artist’s website for as long as the work remains published. Participating artists are also highlighted across The Black Doll Affair’s digital platforms, including Instagram (10K+), Facebook (60K+ followers), a 4K-member Facebook community, YouTube, and our 100K+ newsletter audience.

This is PR, marketing, and traffic-driving promotion aligned with a meaningful cultural initiative — all for a $25 shipping and ceremonial preparation contribution.
