Kiri Davis 'Girl Like Me" - the catalyst to The Black Doll Affair ABC News Doll Test CNN Doll Test

The Founder of The Black Doll Affair witnessed the below video in 2007. She was blown away when she saw children of the new millennium still identifying themselves as the "Bad, ugly Black Doll." To remind black girls of their "bhuety" she threw what was supposed to be a one-time Christmas Party, where Black Women showed up as living Dolls in hopes of getting little black girls to want to BE the Black Doll! The rest as they say is history....

Because of disturbing doll test videos showing black children identifying the black dolls as "bad" and "ugly", Dana "Mama Doll" Hill started The Black Doll Affair self-esteem movement in 2007. In limited supply and periodically, we sell dolls here on our site. In limited supply, because selling dolls, is not what we do. Our mission is to change the way black girls are perceived and perceive themselves. As living Black Dolls, that's what we call our supporters, here's how we accomplish our mission: | 1. For little girls, we donate dolls in hopes of reminding them, that the doll that shares their skin color is bhuetiful, intrinsically. | 2. For adult women, we act dolling in our communities, play well with each other and perform random acts of philanthropic kindness. Caveat, we may look and act like dolls. But,we're humans, that make mistakes. So please, don't try to turn us into your role models. | 3. On our social networking sites, we showcase/reshare photos of the most bhuetiful dolls, those real and faux.
